The original name for Turkish Delight, "lokum" comes from the Arabic rahat-ul-hulkum which translates as "soothe or heal the throat". The name then abbreviated to rahat lokum and finally to lokum. We can guarantee you that the hardest thing about their Turkish Delight is stopping at one!
